Mixed Media Art by Mark Bradford
Los Angeles artist Mark Bradford has created some of the most amazing collages I’ve ever seen. Even though I’ve only seen his work online so far, when I look at it I can almost feel the layers and textures. Look closer and you’ll learn that his visually compelling works are built around difficult themes like race relations, sexual identity, and drug addiction.
Haus
As soon as someone decides to send me to live in London for a year, I’m going to visit Haus.
I discovered this shop when I was in the midst of falling in love with Present & Correct. If you’re trying to decide what gift you should send me to celebrate my new business venture, here are a few ideas.

Old Seattle Paperworks
Old Seattle Paperworks is a must-visit Seattle shop if you’re a fan of vintage magazines or advertising. I could spend hours looking through their collection. You can check out some of their stuff online, and even download some free clip art for collage projects or display. The vintage ad of the week is downloadable too!
Copenhagen
I want to go to Copenhagen. I’ve been thinking about it enough that it’s reached obsession status. I’m not even sure how it started. I mean, I’ve been interested in going to this design mecca for a while, but now little things pop up all the time that make me want to visit more and more.
I’ve been a Danish film fan since the first time I saw Festen (The Celebration). And I love the Danish cinematographer Kasper Tuxen.
So…I must go. Eventually.
Bunheads
Who’s watching Bunheads? Show of hands? Thank GOODNESS that this show came out. Now I can once again think of Amy Sherman-Palladino without her last TV adventure being The Return of Jezebel James. I honestly don’t know what happened there. It had all the makings of awesome. I don’t get it.
If you’re a Gilmore Girls fan, you’ll want to watch this show. Amy’s writing is sharp and quick, she’s got a lovely leading lady with the wit and warmth of Loralei Gilmore but different enough to be her own character, a castful of quirky townspeople, teen girl angst, and more. I love this show.

This may or may not be me at “Loralei’s house” wearing the same shirt that Rory wore on an episode of Gilmore Girls. Whatever.
