The Monochromatic Collection at Casa di LaValle

Collaborations have a way of stretching my creativity in unexpected, yet deeply rewarding directions. When Cassandra and I first discussed the 2024 Monochromatic Collection for Casa di LaValle, I’ll admit I was a little apprehensive. While the style echoed some of my earlier geometric cityscapes, I had never before attempted an entire series where the color palette was the primary subject — particularly using a refined monochromatic approach.

I began developing the collection just before my trip to France. There, I immersed myself in the colors we had selected for the six-painting series: deep green, yellow ochre, rich blues, and neutrals. The trip inspired me in ways I hadn’t anticipated, and I returned with a renewed sense of direction, which helped bring this collaboration to life. The richness and depth of this exploration into color feels both grounding and dynamic.

Travel photography from France, capturing some of the colors I used in The Monochromatic Collection.

Two of the six original paintings are still available — Casa Blue No. 1 and Casa White No. 1.

If the painting you’re drawn to has already found its home, or if you’d like to commission a piece in a different size or color, please visit my commissions page to explore how we can create something unique together. Interior designers or art consultants looking to incorporate a commissioned painting or series into a residential or hospitality design project, I’d love to connect directly with you.
