Seriously, these Ryan Gosling “Hey Girl”s are cracking me up.
Before I write about my hopes and plans for 2012, I think it would be cool to list the things that I accomplished in 2011. Note: I will never use the word “goals” for this kind of thing. I don’t know why, but I hate that word. What am I, a soccer player? It feels too businessy or exact or black and white. I’m all about shades of gray.
I think that we spend a lot of time thinking about where we want to be, but very little time celebrating what we’ve already done. That should be reversed. Who’s with me?
So…virtual drumroll here…here are the things that I did in 2011 that I’m pretty proud of (in no particular order).
- Created a Mighty Life List
- Learned how to use the manual settings on my camera
- Made a commitment to attend the Altitude Design Summit
- Signed up for The Sketchbook Project
- Wrote my first sponsored post
- Developed some regular features for my blog
- Started writing a monthly motherhood column at Get Born
- Increased my blog post frequency to at least five days a week
- Started a new collage
- Opened my Society6 shop
- Started a novel
- Talked to a lot of strangers and made new friends offline and online
- Experienced my most creative year yet
- Became much more comfortable/relaxed/confident in my role as a mother
- Was grateful for the life that I have every single day
Now it’s your turn to celebrate you. What are your accomplishments from 2011? What are you most proud of? Tell me! Let’s celebrate it!
Remember, nothing is too small to list. Life circumstances vary. Sometimes just being able to get out of bed and go about your day is quite the accomplishment. xoxo
