I was really bummed out that I didn’t get a chance to meet Elisabeth Thurston Fraser when I was at Alt Summit this year. She’s the editor in chief of one of my favorite online (and soon to be offline) publications, Equals. Since we kept missing each other at Alt, she mailed me a couple of copies of the January 2013 preview issue of the print version of Equals. I’ve been slowly making my way through this collection of beautiful essays and I can’t wait to subscribe to the magazine.
What I love most about Equals is that the focus is on exploring emotions through writing. While beautiful images are scattered throughout the publication, online and off, the high quality, beautiful, real, raw writing is the star of the show. You can feel the stories. I wish I had the time to spend an entire day reading all of the posts.
I first mentioned Equals back in October when I read this beautiful essay by La La Lovely’s Trina McNeilly, a la la lovely woman that I finally got to meet in person in January. I was happy to discover two extremely talented writers, Liz Moody and Shoku Wanger, in the preview print edition.
Mara Kofoed of A Blog About Love, another lovely woman that I had the pleasure of meeting at Alt Summit this year, also contributes to Equals. I’m really excited to read her work there.
So, go. Go visit Equals. Read amazing essays that will make you feel something. Help these talented writers keep their thoughtful project ad free by offering your support. xoxo
