Inspiration: The City | Two New Abstract Cityscapes

While not a perfect match, I think these two abstract cityscapes make a cute couple.

abstract cityscapes by Seattle artist Melanie Biehle. Meet Cute is inspired by mid-century modern textiles and 60s romantic comedies

Abstract Cityscapes by Melanie Biehle. You Are Here is a black, white, gray, cream colored abstract cityscape painting.

And…I actually didn’t use these photos I took when I visited New York City in 2015 as direct inspiration for these abstract cityscapes.

But…I think they’re a great example for you to see how travel experiences find their way into my artwork.

In addition to New York City itself, both of these abstract cityscapes were inspired by mid-century modern design and textiles and 60s romantic comedies. Some of my favorite things!

Meet Cute and You Are Here are currently available for purchase. If you’re not in Seattle but are still interested in purchasing one (or both!) of these paintings, please email me at melanie@melaniebiehle.com for more information. xo
