Some of you might have noticed that my consulting page is “at the salon.” I’ve been working on redesigning and rewriting everything on it to better explain my business and the services I offer. At first I’d planned to have the branding and name be an extension of Inward Facing Girl. But the more I thought about it and talked it over with others, I decided to give my consulting business it’s own brand, name, and blog. I’m really excited about creating it.
First, here’s how I came up with the name. Genuine Mix (genuineMIX) represents how I work and what I do. I chose “genuine” because being authentic, real, and personal in my own writing and marketing is important to me, and I want to work with others who want to bring their personality into the marketing of their business venture. I honestly believe that if people have some kind of personal connection with a company, blog, or artist, they’re more likely to buy what they’re selling.
“Mix” was selected to represent variety. As you guys know, I write about a mix of topics on my blog, and I also offer a variety of services through my consulting business – social media and content marketing consulting for creative business owners, bloggers, and artists, graphic design services, and creative coaching. So there you have it…genuineMIX!
This inspiration board for the design, feel, and branding of genuineMIX has been so much fun to put together. Right now I’m focusing on content and I haven’t had a chance to start the design work yet, but I’m planning to spend some time on it before the week officially ends. You can see the originals and more of my inspiration images for genuineMIX on Pinterest. I’m so excited about my new design project!
