Nathaniel had a good day today. He loves when we get out our container of plastic bugs. Today he was identifying them by color – “yellow bug” and “orange bug”! It’s very exciting to see him processing colors and using them without being prompted. We also found a rather large spider outside which Nathaniel thought was pretty cool. :)

Nathaniel was very sensitive today. Normally he is not bothered when a toy is taken or someone takes his spot, but today he had a pretty hard time with those kinds of things. We gave him a lot of hugs and comfort to try to help him along and encouraged him to verbalize what happened and how he felt. Books helped him through some of the rough spots. We got some new books for the class and he loves picking them out to read!

Nathaniel had a pretty hard morning. He did not want to sit down for breakfast even though he was encouraged to many times. Instead, he made colored towers (“green guy,” “yellow guy,”) and had a lot of fun. Around 9:15 he realized breakfast was all gone and became very upset. He would get distracted by other things and then return to tears. At 10:00 we got out some crackers and he wolfed them down! After that his mood shifted. :)

After playing at bikeside he came in to do some art. Their favorite game lately is earthquake (building up plastic blocks, then knocking them over). Nathaniel took his marker and said, “Earthquake!!!” scribbling very fast. :)

Nathaniel had a good day today. Today was the first day I saw him talk into his milk cup and realize it made a cool sound. He started saying, “Big April” into it. It’s fun to watch him explore and see his creativity and excitement to learn (even fun new tricks!). Note: April is one of Nathaniel’s teachers. She’s “Big” so she won’t be confused with his classmate, “Little” April. :)

Nathaniel had a good day today! Today I noticed that he was a big comforter to his crying friends. He loves to make silly faces, then give them hugs. :)

Nathaniel had a good day today. He did a great job during circle time! He really engaged with the stories and songs. It’s exciting to watch his growth as he practices participating in circle time every day. These are skills he will need in preschool and beyond.

Nathaniel had a good day today. This morning he spent a lot of time playing with C and I (classmates). They played playdough together, twirled in circles together, then had a little dance party. It’s so fun to watch how they can understand sentences even Kathy (teacher) and I can’t. :)

Nathaniel had a good day. He was a little sensitive this morning, but his attitude changed pretty fast. He really liked playing in the sand on the playground today! He had two sticks he kept poking in the sand. He also liked using the funnel in the sand. He came back inside and did some art. Normally he does art for the enjoyment of the experience, but today he told us he was drawing “Apie, Big Apie,” and “Debbie” (what “Kathy” sounds like when he says it).

Nathaniel seemed to have a lot of fun today. We spent a lot of time doing activities to improve fine motor skills – peeling stickers off sheets, playdough, using tape, and sticking popsicle sticks in bottles. At each activity Nathaniel really focused and really seemed to enjoy them! We also had a spontaneous dance party where Nathaniel had a blast! He loves to spin in circles and rock his head.

Nathaniel had a good day today. We filled the sensory table up with potting soil and added plastic insects, little scoops, and bowls to plant in. Nathaniel loved digging through it all to see what he could find! We also had a great time looking at Nathaniel’s picture book. Nathaniel loved looking at the “man running” picture and C (classmate) was so excited to see a picture of the “Uncle Michael” Nathaniel talks about.
