ABSTRACT SEASCAPES: AN ONGOING SERIES

One of the things I realized during my creative gathering phase this year was that the things that I’m most inspired by weren’t being consistently translated into my art. Learning this was surprising and transformative. This realization has brought fresh energy to my work in the second half of this year and feels like a creative rebirth. It’s also what initially led to this ongoing abstract seascape collection.

While I’ve created ocean-inspired paintings in the past, I’ve never devoted an entire collection to my greatest inspiration. My November 2023 abstract seascape collection is the most “realistic” abstract series I’ve ever done, but it has felt right to honor the ocean like this. Immersing myself in the energy of the sea and sharing it with you in this way feels relaxing, spacious, and soothing.

I enjoyed working on these so much and it has been so restorative to have their calming energy in my studio. If you choose to bring one of these paintings into your home I hope that it helps you create a space for peace and serenity in your life.
