Last week, I debuted my weekly column. Here’s this week’s list, in no particular order.
1. Feedly
2. Artists featured on Oh, Joy! blogger’s episode of Secrets From a Stylist
I recently watched an episode of HGTV’s Design Star winner Emily Henderson’s show, Secrets From a Stylist. This show featured a living room and dining room makeover for Joy Deangdeelert Cho, creator of the fabulous Oh Joy! blog. Note: All photos for this obsession are from the Oh Joy! blog.
Emily did this cool art display with some of the couple’s super awesome prints, many by artists who can be found on Etsy. This nifty wallpaper was actually designed by Joy.
I was also obsessed with this pink dining table that didn’t make the cut…I love it!
3. Pie
OMG, seriously…this place needs to move away from my neighborhood! I might as well stop spending all of that time on the elliptical. Even though listening to upbeat fun music from Glee seriously does make workouts more fun. Here’s my 5 star Yelp! review.
Pie is the new cupcake. Everyone says so. And this little Fremont gem, aptly named Pie, shows cupcake who’s boss.
This is one of my new favorite places, and (dangerously) they’re just a short walk away from my apartment. Since they’ve been open I’ve had the chance to try several of their sweet and savory handheld pies. They do a fantastic job on the crust, which is super important if you’re going to have a pie shop.
My favorites, in no particular order:
Chocolate Cream
Coconut Cream
Monkey Pie (chocolate cream, vanilla cream, banana, and coconut)
Vegetable Pot Pie
Pesto Veggie
The bite-sized mini pies I’ve tried haven’t been that great. Probably because you don’t get to experience much of the delicious filling when you select that option. But the individual handheld pies are so amazing that it doesn’t bring their 5 star rating down.
4. #mibfortacobell
Move over, #tigerblood. Michael Ian Black is #winning now. This week Twitter was all atwitter with this funny man’s bid to be the Taco Bell spokesman. Check out his campaign manifesto and videos here. If you’re not following him on Twitter or checking out The Black List on WitStream, you should be.
5. Cool bus shirts by Seattle’s own Phil Scroggs
This obsession is fresh off the press…literally. My pal Phil is an artist extraordinaire and he JUST created these super cool t-shirts inspired by King County Metro bus routes. Phil also loves Apple products, drives a Prius, is a vegetarian, and is super good about corralling lazy people to vote. So, if you’re “white,” you should support him by purchasing his artwork or commissioning him to do some sort of unique cool art piece just for you. Especially if you live in Seattle. #buylocal
Okay, that’s it for this week, folks. Happy obsessing!
