If I want to create a series of “girl” collages, I have to start somewhere. For me, that means primary paper selection, preliminary sketching, and creating mini-stories about who these “girls” are.
Note: I’m putting “girls” in quotes for now because my subjects are actually women (who will receive names as each collage is completed).
Is it weird that I still use the word “girl” to describe my female women friends and other women that I know? Is it offensive? I don’t know why but it feels odd to say, “this woman I work with,” unless she’s a lot older than me. And people, that is OLD, because I’m 41. Do any of you do this?
