Yesterday I was scrolling through my Mediabistro UnBeige newsletter and found out that Moleskine has opened a brand new shop in New York City. I don’t know about you, but I’m jealous of all the people that get to go there.
I have this theory that design or lifestyle or fashion or any other creative “girl” bloggers were and are huge fans of school supplies. We rarely meet an awesome notebook that we don’t buy, no matter how many blank journals we have on our bookshelf. Pens are like crack. Just scanning my desk right now shows more than 10 markers, pens, or colored pencils in different shades of pink. And that’s just the pink set.
I was one of those sticker girls in junior high. My best friend and I had notebooks that we covered inside and out with stickers, drawings, and rock stars. We had paint pens that we used to decorate tinted acrylic boxes that we filled with more paint pens, stickers, and patterned shoelaces.
Side note: I dug through a box of old journals and notebooks recently and apparently the cost of a ticket to see Prince live in concert cost $9.50 in Monroe, LA in 1983. And that was with The Time and Vanity 6. A general admission ticket to see Prince in Seattle next month cost $250. Talk about inflation! :)
When I have more time, I want to learn what kind of cool stuff is happening in the MyMoleskine Community and check out their iPad/iPhone app. For now, check out this adorable video of the special edition The Little Prince Moleskine.
Are you a Moleskine fan? What art or office supplies are hard for you to resist?
