New Art: Postcards From The Future

The View From A Room Of One’s Own. An abstract seascape painting that looks like you’re staring out of a window on a relaxing summer day.

Yesterday I launched a brand new painting collection, Postcards From The Future. This series was scheduled to debut at an in-person pop-up art event in Portland this weekend, which unfortunately had to be canceled. Note: Our lovely host, Kami Gray Interiors will be featuring me and my talented artist friend Allison Rohland in an online event soon.

I’m bummed that a larger group of people won’t be able to see the entire series in person. Like with most art, there are so many details that can’t be captured and shared in photographs. Like the texture and glazing that I used in these pieces – while I included some close-up shots, it’s really difficult to convey their beauty online. But trust me, if you do happen to bring one of these paintings into your home, when you see it in person you’re going to love it even more.

About Postcards From The Future

Postcards From The Future is an abstract painting collection born of deep internal work. An artist retreat and a vision board. Meditation and hibernation. A sense of restlessness. A longing for more. The balance of being open and making plans. Being an active participant in life.

I see these paintings as moments I’m manifesting. Views that I crave. And while they are personal desires sprung from within, I know them to be universal as well. We all have unlived lives within us. The potential of alternate realities. Timelines yet to come. Each day we live and every choice we make can bring us closer to what we desire – our highest self or an ideal life. I believe that because I’m living it – the life I have now was once just pictures on my vision board, torn from magazines. Journal entries where I poured my creative longings out for the Universe to read.

These paintings remind me of that power. The power we have to change.
