True Story: We visited our friends in Hamburg, Germany in 2015. I viewed and processed the photos from our trip over two years later.
Who does that? Me, now, obviously.
We spent the first part of this European vacation in Iceland.
I shared some photos our Icelandic adventure shortly after the trip in summer 2015. We visited the Blue Lagoon, hung out at cool places in Reykjavík, admired the amazing architecture of the Harpa, and traveled out of the city (and made friends with Icelandic horses) on the Golden Circle Tour.
The rest of the time we were in Germany. We visited friends in Hamburg and Cologne, then had an amazing time exploring Berlin.
Let’s get started with Hamburg. We stayed in the beautiful Eilenau Hotel.
The kid does great imitations.
We spent most of our time hanging out with our friends and exploring the city by taking long walks through different neighborhoods.
Our friends have squirrels that come in from outside and help themselves to a snack! It was so cool to watch!
I saw some amazing art exhibitions in Hamburg. Two were at Deichtorhallen – a photography retrospective by Phillip Toledano (aka, the only art exhibition that has made me cry) and Wall Painting, a bright, graphic Günther Förg art installation.
If you’re familiar with how much my life and art are impacted and inspired by water, then you know how thrilled I was when I saw an entire art exhibition dedicated to the inspirational power of water in art and photography. I know, right?!?!
Besides museums, there was a lot of cool art and graphic design to love on the streets of Hamburg.
We had such an amazing time and I’m so grateful that we had this opportunity!
