There’s been a lot of talk about putting your money where your values are since the results of the current United States Presidential election started pouring in. And with holiday shopping upon us, I want to let you know why I do what I do and where you can find and buy my artwork.
As I told my friends on Instagram this morning, I’m in the process of getting my online shops in order. I’ve been busy the past couple of months preparing my work for an art publishing firm and working on residential and commercial art commissions. While I haven’t been introducing a lot of new work for individuals to buy here, I’ve been really busy behind the scenes – working with a few art consultants who are handling some of my artwork for corporate accounts, submitting new textiles and pattern designs to a print studio for fashion industry clients, and I’m in talks with another company about a product line venture that I’ve been gathering inspiration for since the end of summer.
Why work with third parties, you might ask? Because my mission as an artist is to spend as much time as possible ACTUALLY MAKING ART.
That’s why I prefer to work with companies who handle manufacturing, shipping, and, to some extent, selling my art for me.
For many years, I’ve held jobs that put me adjacent to how I really wanted to spend my time. And I don’t want to do that with my art career.
That being said, if you want to make a living as an artist, it’s important to diversify. That means I also need and want to have platforms that allow me to sell my work to individuals – that’s you guys! This is especially important when you’re currently the sole breadwinner for your family and much of that bread won’t actually be won until sometime in the future – when projects are completed and launched, when products are manufactured and sold, or when clothing brands have purchased your textile designs to create their next fashion line.
So if you’re interested in supporting a woman-owned small business who is working to support her family with her creative skills, look no further. There’s a woman artist right here.
For now, you can find my fine art prints on Minted, my original paintings and drawings on Saatchi Art, and my products on Redbubble. If you’re looking to buy custom artwork, please see my shop page for details on the commission process.
If you have friends or family who would enjoy my work, please share this blog post with them. And if you want to stay informed about new art and projects that I’m working on, sign up for my weekly newsletter right here.
Thank you SO MUCH for your interest in my art and supporting my work. I really appreciate all of you guys so much. xoxo
