Mid-Century Modern Botanical Collection

Today I want to share some of the creative process of the Mid-Century Modern Botanical Collection that I’m working on now. This project got its start as a series of shapes painted with gouache. I cut the shapes out and started using them to experiment with different arrangements and collages.

After shooting photographs of a few different collage options and the shapes themselves, I used the Inkpad app on my iPad to trace the images and convert them to vector drawings.

I’m really excited about creating a pattern collection based on these drawings. Along with the Nomads abstract painting series that I’m working on, I’m surrounding myself with a lot of fun, bright colors!
