Color Story: Coral and White

Last weekend the three of us took a road trip up to Mount Vernon and La Conner. It’s Skagit Tulip Festival time and we hadn’t been since I was pregnant with Nathaniel. I’ve got some photos of beautiful tulips that are sitting inside my camera waiting to be processed, but in the meantime I wanted to share a few shots of the coral diamond shapes painted on the United States Post Office in La Conner.

Geometric shapes in coral on a white background? Yes, please. I feel a new painting coming on…after I take a break.

Yesterday I finished creating and prepping the 19 pieces of art that will be on display at Velouria in Seattle beginning on Saturday, March 12th. I’ll be there for an artist reception from 6:00 to 9:00 PM on Saturday for the Ballard Art Walk, so stop by if you’re in the neighborhood! I’ll share the mixed media collages and abstract paintings that I did for the show soon. Here’s a sneak peek close-up shot of the final piece.

I’ve also promised myself a day off next week. My plan is to spend the entire day reading magazines. Literally. THE ENTIRE DAY. It’s crazy how excited I am about this.
