I subscribe to a lot of newsletters. I don’t have time to read all of them, but I am able to give each one a quick scan to see if there’s something I want to investigate further. Today’s INK361 update was so full of fun and whimsy that I had to create an InstaAwesome post just for Kerstin Hiestermann, or @khiesti on Instagram.
Kerstin lives near Hannover, Germany and teaches children who have learning difficulties. “I don’t have a degree or specific qualifications in art or photography, all my work is created just for fun and simply for the love of doing it.”
This is creativity in action: Making connections between things where no connections seem to exist.
I love how Kerstin described the creative flow when she started working on these.
“After making and taking that one shot there was no stopping me and my creativity, it was almost as if a door had sprung open inside of me and a flood of ideas emerged. Anything and everything I see and hear inspires me. An object I like, a flower, something to eat, a sentence that somebody says to me…all of a sudden a picture associated with it comes to my mind. “
You can purchase some of Kerstin’s work on INK361.
