I’ve been discussing the social media cycle with online and offline friends and lately I’ve noticed that a lot of us who’ve most recently been madly in love with Twitter and Pinterest have handed that fierce passion over to Instagram these days.
I’ll admit my relationship with Instagram has had it’s ups and downs. I’m one of the ones who deleted my old account when they pulled that weird TOS stunt about using your photographs in ads without permission. I had a lot of photos of my son on my old feed and just the thought that they could slap his image on something without my consent made me cringe. So @melaniebiehle was deleted – all photos zapped from existence.
Since then the company has refined their policy, and frankly it was hard to give it up the first time. I love the interaction and creative expression of that platform, so I started a new account in January under @inwardfacinggirl. I’ve since then reposted some of the old photos that I liked under the #latergram tag, and honestly it’s been cool to have a do-over.
InstaAwesome is a feature that I’ll be running to share some of my own favorite shots as well as those by people that I follow.
