Okay, guys.
At least once a year I get a majorly obsessed with visiting L.A. I’ve lived there a couple of times, and while I definitely prefer the Pacific Northwest for day-to-day existence, there are a lot of great things about the City of Angels that always make me want to visit.
One thing is what I like like to call the Californianess of L.A. – there’s something about the gauzy light, pinkĀ bougainvillea, magic-hour sunsets, and the southern California beach culture that just “feels” California. Do you know what I mean?
This guy definitely does.
My first introduction to art and fashion photographer Paul Jasmin was through my obsession with Sofia Coppola. What? You didn’t know that I kind of like Sofia? Hi! Welcome to Inward Facing Girl! My name is Melanie. Nice to meet you! :)
Paul has taken some cool photographs of Sofia and she wrote the introduction for Hollywood Cowboy, a collection of photographs that includes a few of a younger Sofia with long, straight, hippie hair. They’re amazing, along with the rest of the photos in the book that’s laced with Jasmin’s own style of laid-back-hipster Hollywood vibe.
After Hollywood Cowboy, he published Lost Angeles.
California Dreaming is his latest collection.
What about you? Are you jonesing for a trip to the land of never ending palm trees too? Or are you a L.A.-based creative looking for branding or marketing consulting? I’d love to pay you a visit and give you some on-site guidance.
