An Italian Honeymoon: Sorrento

Sorrento, Italy – Where We Said Our Vows

Last week I mentioned that I’m working on an ebook called Blog with Purpose. It’s full of advice, opinions, and exercises to help bloggers figure stuff out. Obviously, I haven’t written the description of the book yet. The book will be released next week and I’m super excited to share it with you.

Typical (for us) Italian Breakfast – Whole Milk Cappuccino + Chocolate Croissant

One of the things that I mention in the book is the post that I wrote during my first few months of blogging about our honeymoon in Italy. This post. Right here. Take a quick look. See anything missing?

Walking in Sorrento

Yes. I wrote a post about our lovely, two-week trip to Italy back in May of 2009 and didn’t include a single photo of our trip in the post itself. Sure, there were links to photos, but so what. Granted, this was pre-Pinterest, so I didn’t break that blogging “rule” yet, but still. A pure text post about a trip to Sorrento, Amalfi, Positano, Capri, Florence, Siena, and Rome. Perfect. I’m not even going to go into what I didn’t do with my About Me page. You’ll have to wait for the book for that story.

Sweet Drew in SorrentoBut you know what’s great about having your own blog? It’s never too late. If there’s something that you wish you’d shared earlier, you can take your readers back in time and give them a glimpse of your life back then. You may even show yourself a thing or two on these journeys. Sometimes it’s hard to remember what it was like before Nathaniel was born, but spending some time looking through these photos brought it all back.

“Basta!” (Enough!)I’d like to share some photos of this trip with you, so I’m going to do a mini-series: An Italian Honeymoon. A little self-indulgent? Perhaps. But it’s going to be pretty. I promise.

Wearing blogger stripes since 2009Next Friday: Guess who’s going to Capri? You!

I was obsessed with this mother and child statue.

Do you have anything from your past that you’d like to share on your blog? I’d love to hear the stories you have to tell.

Have a great weekend! xoxo
