Lauren Randolph is a creative portrait photographer based in Los Angeles. I learned about her when she was featured with some other amazing women photographers on Pictory. After seeing this awesome ballerinaesque jumpology shot, complete with crown, I had to take a look at more of her work.
I loved a lot of her photographs, but a couple of my favorite shots were the styled, staged collaborations between Lauren and fellow L.A. photographer Ryan Schude.
I also loved her quintessential L.A. shots. There’s something about the light in Los Angeles that creates a dreamlike quality to life. If you’ve spent any time there, or lived there a couple of times like I did, I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. Think Sofia Coppola’s The Virgin Suicides. There’s something about the look of that film that is so L.A.
I love how Lauren described the Instagram shot above: “Reminding myself how lucky I am to be here.”
The jumpology shots are fun too.
And guess what? If you love her work, you can buy her book.
Bonus time: Here’s the trailer for The Virgin Suicides. Do you see what I’m talking about? That dreamy look that feels like L.A.?
