Bergdorf Goodman Holiday Window 2009 by Melanie BiehleI love you guys. I’m going to start with that.
Seriously, I’m so grateful for every one of you who show up here to read this blog. I love the community and banter that we’ve created here. I’m thankful for this space every single day.

This is my last post until New Year’s Eve. That’s right, I’m taking a break! Well, from active posting anyway. During this time I’ll be working on my presentation for Alt Summit that’s coming up in January, some digital house cleaning to prepare for the New Year, my last 2012 newsletter (sign up here!), and my New Year’s Eve post and GIVEAWAY.
That’s right. I said GIVEAWAY. On January 1st, I’m doing my first giveaway. Sponsored by…ME.
More about that in 2013.

When I come back, I want to talk to you guys about several things, including some of the blog posts I’ve read recently about the importance of not giving your work away for free. The talented Holly Becker of Decor8 and the creative Sandra Harris of Raincoast Cottage have both written about it and I have some opinions I’d like to share with you in early January.
If you celebrate Christmas, I hope it’s wonderful! I’m looking forward to seeing Nathaniel’s reactions to his presents from Santa on Christmas morning, hanging out with friends on Christmas Eve, and spending some quality time with my family over the next week.

I’ll see you back here on the last day of 2012! I’m looking forward to sharing some highlights of the year and thinking about the cool things to come. If you miss me, I’m sure I’ll be posting some things to Flickr (I’m leaning toward breaking up with Instagram, no matter what they do with their terms of service), Twitter, and Facebook. I can’t imagine I’ll actually be social media free for a week. :)
Merry Christmas, and thank you again! I’ll see you on New Year’s Eve. xoxo
