You guys…I’m sad.
Tonight is the last party in the Assemble Shop & Studio space on Greenwood. The amazing Andie and Emily are taking their business in a new direction in 2013 and it’s time to say goodbye to the Seattle shop. I’m super excited for them, because they have a lot of awesome stuff going on, but I am going to miss walking into that adorable place and being greeted by their smiling (or snarky, when appropriate) faces.

The Assemble shop is a special place for me. It’s where I crossed off two big things on my life list – making the jump to start my own business and having one of my collages shown in a gallery.
It’s where I first met wonderful women like Tif Fussell (Dottie Angel), Danielle Krysa (The Jealous Curator), and Janine Vangool (UPPERCASE).
It’s where my son went trick-or-treating for the very first time.
It’s a place where I always feel comfortable and surrounded by friends.
I know that Andie and Emily are still going to be here, and I’ll still see them. Maybe even more often, because they’ll be like me and need to get out of their home office every now and then. But the shop itself has been a special place. So yeah, there may be a few tears tonight. Especially if this Parenthood“hangover” continues.
Congratulations, Andie and Emily! Putting all your magic in an online storefront is going to make the internet much more cozy.

Come celebrate the release of the Assemble Crafty Kits, listen to some holiday music, and raise a glass to one of my favorite places in Seattle.
