The Equals Record
This weekend I read a fantastic essay by Trina McNeilly on The Equals Record titled The End Is the Beginning. Trina is the author of the beautiful blog La La Lovely. I loved getting this personal glimpse of Trina, and I’m looking forward to reading a lot more work published on The Equals Record and in the sure-to-be-lovely quarterly print magazine coming this fall. Maybe I’ll even submit some myself.
Mad Men
I went into labor while I was watching the first episode of Mad Men. I had decided to finally watch the series that everyone kept telling me I’d love, then had my first contraction. I made it through the beginning of episode two before I waddled up the stairs and told Drew that I think I might be in labor.
Photographed by Annie Leibovitz for Vanity FairFast forward, two years later: I spent my entire summer watching this amazing show. I feel like it just gets better and better. I love everything about it – the writing, the set design, the costume design, the acting, the actors, the characters, EVERYTHING.

Chicken with Plums
I first fell in love with Marjane Satrapi when I saw the wonderful autobiographical animated film
, based on her graphic novels. Marjane and Vincent Parronnaud wrote and directed it.
The duo has another feature that looks great, titled
.
It’s going on my “to watch” list. Take a look at the trailer and let me know what you think.

Move LifeStyle
Autumn Reeser’s Move LifeStyle has been revamped, and she and her friends have a lot of exciting things in store for us. I’m especially looking forward to my Danielle’s column, The Art of Balance, an exploration of the attempt to balance art/creativity and motherhood. Girl Friday is going to be awesome too. Note to Autumn: Finn is adorable, and I love that last photo of you working on your MacBook.
