Nobody Walks was co-written by indie darling and Queen of Awesome Things, Lena Dunham. That alone puts this film at the top of this week’s list. It’s also set in Los Angeles, which is how it fits into this particular obsession collection…in case you were wondering.

Colour Me Good Ryan Gosling

Hey girl, want to make me blush? Now you can.

Thanks to a retweet from Charlie Wright of Minor Thread, I saw this awesome Ryan Gosling coloring book on LAist created by Mel Simone Elliott.

But the fun doesn’t stop with this object of our affection. Mel makes LOTS of cool stuff, like Lady Gaga and Debbie Harry paper dollstypeface temporary tattoos, and more awesome coloring books. Yes please!

Alex Prager

Alex Prager is an L.A. born and based photographer and filmmaker. I haven’t seen her films yet, but I am in LOVE with her cinematic, sometimes creepy, California girl photographs. Aren’t you?

Rosa Muerta

In the November 2011 issue of Sunset there was a brief piece on Rosa Muerta, a vacation rental near Joshua Tree designed by L.A. architect Robert Stone. Sigh…I know…NOVEMBER…I have a ton of things to share with you guys!

I’m not sure I’d really want to sleep in an indoor/outdoor-middle-of-the-desert space, but I am sure that it is pretty freaking cool. It’s nice to know that renting it is an option.

The first time I lived in West Hollywood I was new to the L.A. area. I had never laid eyes on the studio apartment I rented through the internet, had only visited once seven years previously, and didn’t have a day job lined up to sustain me until I became a famous Hollywood screenwriter. As you might think, I never quite made it to the library. Now it’s been all fancied up by Johnson Favaro and ready for its closeup, sporting murals by cool street artists like Shepard Fairey and a coffee bar. I’m putting it on my “to visit” list next time I’m in L.A.

Now I want to spend my day soaking up architecture and design in Southern California. What about you?
