Pinspiration: Summer Dreams and a Spotify Playlist

In March I started making these “inspiring me now” boards on Pinterest. I skipped May and June, but I’ve been working on a July inspiration board that I’m loving so far. I’m in a very relaxed, vacationy mood…at least that’s the goal. I think it’s actually starting to work!

Mr. Draper, I cannot believe I’ve only just met you. I’m only about halfway through season two of Mad Men(I KNOW! Shh! Don’t tell anyone!) and I love it. I knew that I would and my friends have been bugging me about watching this show forever, but what can I say? I’m late.

Actually, that’s not entirely true. I started watching Mad Men almost two years ago when I was pregnant with Nathaniel. I watched episode one and then I started having contractions. By the middle of episode two I couldn’t focus, then I went to the hopspital and had a baby. No more Mad Men. True story.

Los Angeles. It always makes me think of summer. I’ve lived there through January gloom (and some of my own), but I’ve also gone swimming in November and driven down PCH to Malibu with my hair blowing in the wind. L.A. is summer.

You can take a look at the rest of the images on my July inspiration board if you’d like!

Now, for a bonus. Today I want to share Smells Like Coppertone with you. It’s a playlist full of 39 songs that feel like summer. Yes, 39 songs. Yes, I suck at making playlists if you’re supposed to have limits.

If you don’t have a Spotify account, you can sign up for free, then any time you’re stuck at your computer you can blast some summer into your workspace. What are some of your favorite summertime songs?

Don’t forget to sign up for the Inward Facing Girl newsletter. The first one will go out next week! Have a wonderful weekend. xoxo

P.S. Josh Rouse is great for driving down PCH, especially 1972.
