Last weekend Drew, Nathaniel, Michael, and I headed over to Capitol Hill for brunch at Barrio Mexican Kitchen & Bar. Since I can’t visit my dear friends in Austin right now, it was the next best thing. Yes, even with these dining companions.
Drew and I did our usual thing where we order a savory and a sweet dish and share them. We had the Vegetable and Egg Cazuela (breakfast tacos that included portabello mushrooms and delicious quacamole) and the Brioche French Toast. Nathaniel had a tasty cheese quesadilla and a biscuit, which we had to sample. I liked my egg dish well enough, but I loved the French toast.
I can’t remember what Michael tried. Probably something with meat in it. We should do a little test and see if he actually reads this blog. Michael, if you’re out there, will you tell us what you had in the comments section? We’ll be waiting. :)
I want to go back here on a future date night. They have a wall of candles that I just have to see all lit up. Plus, the design just makes it seem like a better place to go at night.
