Back in November, I told you guys that I signed up to participate in The Sketchbook Project. All sketchbooks had to be postmarked by January 31, and honestly, I wasn’t sure I was going to make it. I almost didn’t. I got to the post office about two minutes before they locked their doors.
My theme was time traveler, and I used my sketchbook as a way to think about ideas for the first book in a series of novels that I’m going to write about a woman who goes to sleep in 2009 and wakes up in 1985. The title of the project is Don’t You…Forget About Me.
All of the sketchbooks will make their way around the country (+ Vancouver and Toronto), starting in Brooklyn and ending in Austin. They will be in Portland from May 11-13 and I hope I get a chance to go down and check out the exhibit.
I don’t want to share the entire sketchbook with you today because Art House Co-op will be digitizing them and then you can see it from cover to cover. But I will share a few of my favorite pages.
