You’re My Obsession: Creativity Via Art, Film, Social Media, & A Gorgeous Magazine

The Sketchbook Project

So, I may have bitten off a little more than I can chew. I signed up for The Sketchbook Project back in Novemberish thinking, “Dude. I’ll have this done wayyyyy before January 31, 2012.”

I have more than 20 blank pages and at least a couple of “in progress” pages left. Did I mention that it has to be postmarked tomorrow?

Ruh Roh!

If you want to see my (lack of) progress on Don’t You Forget About Me (hey, at least it has a title), feel free to visit it on my home for unfinished work at Inward Facing Girl Studio.

The Lovely Lovelands of Ollibird

Last week I got a sweet shout out on Kirtsy because of my mad branding skillz. Note to self: Just…stop. There were some awesome cards included in their list of favorites and several people who I wish I’d had the chance to meet, like Alma and Mike Loveland of Ollibird. You have to check out their cool design work and see how their business card and websites fit together. So awesome. I heart them.

Moonrise Kingdom

Have you seen the trailer for the new Wes Anderson movie Moonrise Kingdom?

You’re welcome.

Storify

Storify is a cool way to compile your social media status updates into nifty little stories that you can share with your friends and across social networks. Here’s the one I created about Alt Summit.

It will be fun to get creative with these!

Kinfolk Magazine

You guys know how much I love beautiful, well-designed magazines that seem to only be published on a quarterly basis? Well, I found another one.

Kinfolk is filled with stunning photography and thoughtful essays by talented, creative people who are interested in entertaining. I know you’re thinking that we already have Martha Stewart, but this is different. Kinfolk is about relationships, small gatherings, intimacy – not super fancy, special occasion soirees – as well as art, photography, and design. There’s also a blog that you can read and drool over between quarters to get your fix. I’m in love.
