One of the cool things about having a child is that it gives you “permission” to buy as many children’s books as you can afford. I mean, you’re basically a bad mother if you don’t expose your kid to lots of books and awesome illustrations, right? It like, stunts their creativity, or something.*
The latest book I added to Nathaniel’s (cough, cough…my…cough, cough) library is the beautifully illustrated Along A Long Road by Frank Viva.
The illustrations illustration, as it was created as a continuous 35-five-foot-long piece of art, is amazing and I’m in love with the color palette.
Apparently, I’m not the only one who feels this way. The New York Times included Along a Long Road on its list of the 10 Best Illustrated Books of 2011.
Take a look at the book trailer and see it in action.
