Marcel the Shell With Shoes On
I’m not sure how this happened, but somehow I missed the original Marcel the Shell video by Jenny Slate and Dean Fleischer-Camp that came out last year. Maybe I was too focused on Bestie X Bestie. But that’s okay. Thanks to Anna at Door Sixteen, I was able to see the second Marcel video.

Reviews of Altitude Design Summit 2011
In preparing for Alt Summit 2012, I’ve been reading some of the reviews from the 2011 conference, like this one from Design Blahg. Just seeing the photos and reading about the things that the bloggers learned makes me super excited for January.
Now the 2012 schedule is posted, and soon the speakers and descriptions will be added. Every detail that is revealed about this conference just gets better and better.
Bergdorf Goodman Holiday Windows
Seeing the holiday window displays in NYC had been on my wish list for some time. On my 40th birthday, Drew and I took a trip to New York to celebrate. Since I’m a Sagittarius baby (December 1), I finally had a chance to see the city decked out in its holiday best.
My favorite holiday window displays by far were at Bergdorf Goodman. In 2009, their theme was Alice in Wonderland.
The 2011 Bergdorf Goodman Holiday Window Display theme is “Carnival of the Animals,” and it was featured in my Saturday Trendland email. I wish I could see these displays in person every year. But I wouldn’t get too close to the Rockefeller Center tree again. Madness!

Shopping (for Alt Summit)
Shopping isn’t as much fun as it was when my good friend Visa and I used to spend a lot of time together. Or since I replaced a high-stress job and cigarettes with pregnancy and cupcakes. In some ways, it’s more of a chore now, and I will usually put it off until I absolutely need to do it.
Since Alt is just around the corner(ish), it gives me more of a push to find some new duds and a non-dorky camera bag. This weekend I picked up this cool dandelion skirt made in Seattle by Revival Ink. I bought it from Reconstructed, a local downtown boutique.
The dandelions snake their way around to the back of the skirt too. And it’s comfortable, which is essential for a person who changes into their PJs as soon as they get home from work, even if they’re wearing yoga pants that day. Not that I’d, like, know anyone like that, or anything.
Submitting Photos to Stock Agencies
Photographers, this question is for you. Have you submitted your photographs to any stock agencies? If so, which ones? Which ones generate the best revenue for you? This weekend I submitted ten trial images to Veer. If they’re approved, I can submit more. I’m also looking into the submission process for Getty Images. Other ideas are welcome and appreciated. xoxo
