You’re My Obsession: August 22-28, 2011

August 2011

This is the last week for the summery ice cream graphic. Don’t forget to say goodbye!

Atsuyo et Akiko

Thanks to one of my favorite blogger’s awesome Pinterest collection, last week I learned about Atsuyo et Akiko. They have such cool stuff for kids, and the photography (by Anna Palma) on their website is gorgeous.

My favorite item is the t-shirt with the gold mask. So cool.

Let me know if you need Nathaniel’s mailing address.

Anthropologie, Design Books, and Design*Sponge
I’m sure you don’t even have to read what I’m going to write to know why I’m obsessed with these things.

The combination of the interwebs and working in downtown Seattle leads to a magical example of instant gratification. How I love modern times! Thanks to a message from one of my tweeps, I learned that 1) Design*Sponge released a summer newspaper, and 2) that I could pick up a copy at Anthropologie. Double awesome.

I zipped over to the downtown store (dangerously, a mere few blocks from my office), and picked up my copy. While I was there I took in the loveliness of Anthropologie. Luckily my phone date with Brooke, the work I had to do, and the amount of money in my checking account kept me from browsing to the point of buying everything I wanted. Sigh. Some other time.

Kris Atomic
Since I’ve been doing artist and blogger interviews, I’ve discovered so much fantastic creative work. Last week a slideshow on Kirtsy led me to Kris Atomic (aka Kristina Mordokhovitch).

Chronic Bitchface by Kris Atomic

Among many other cool things, Kris created a beautiful cover for the first issue of one of the best magazines ever, Anthology.

Her illustrations and photos are fantastic, and I’m looking forward to reading more of her blog.

Restless
This new Gus Van Sant film looks amazing. I love the artwork for the website and posters.

N.E.E.T. Magazine
Guess what? I found another cool online magazine (and blog) to love. N.E.E.T. Magazine describes itself as “an eco-friendly, grassroots style bible for the digital age.”

N.E.E.T. Issue #021 is online now!

N.E.E.T. celebrated its fifth anniversary in 2010 by publishing a book that features five fantastic covers by five different artists and five question interviews with five different designers, bloggers, photographers, and more. Notice a theme here?

P.S. I love these photographs featured on the N.E.E.T. blog shot (Scott Laytart) and styled (Rodellee) for the Adorevintage lookbook.
