Super Addicted in Seattle: Uptown Espresso

Lovely Photo by The Chocolate Mess

Coffee.

It’s lurking around every corner in this city. Just when you muster up all the strength that you have to scurry past the glorious scent wafting out onto the sidewalk, a few feet later you run smack into yet another Starbucks. Or Tully’s (blech, sorry). Or one of Seattle’s many fantastic independent coffee shops that are scattered around the city, like the delicious Uptown Espresso. And then, my friend, you just have to give in.

I’m not saying that drinking coffee is a bad thing. On the contrary, it has some health benefits. But I have coffee at home every morning before I go to work. Then when I’m walking to my office, I smell more coffee and want another fix. Then in the afternoon, I find myself dreaming about the double tall half caf non-fat cappuccino that’s less than a block away from my office. And then there’s the creamy velvet foam (or, the special way that Uptown Espresso steams their milk). It’s all very distracting, and could get very expensive if I were to actually give in to all my coffee whims.

That being said, you can find me at Uptown Espresso on 7th and Virginia at least once a week. Usually twice. And if that location isn’t convenient for you, guess what? There are seven more around the city.
