1. T-shirts
I’ve been cruising Threadless, Woot, Buy Olympia, and PalmerCash looking for cool new t-shirts. I ended up ordering these two (from PalmerCash and Woot).
The zombie who wants a peanut butter sandwich totally cracks me up.
Last week I told you about my friend Phil’s cool metro bus t-shirts that he sells on Zazzle. I ordered this black long-sleeved Fremont version.
Afterwards, the hamster in my brain started running on its wheel. I started thinking, “I love cool graphic t-shirts, but sometimes it’s hard to find exactly what I want. Why don’t I design my own t-shirt? Or two? Or three?” Now I’m officially obsessed with developing my own designs and selling them on Zazzle. Fun!
2. Learning how to use GIMP
Since I must design my own t-shirts, I have to learn how to use some software that allows me to do this. GIMP is like a free version of Photoshop. I downloaded it a while back, but haven’t done too much with it until now. See the cool You’re My Obsession image at the top of this post? I made that with GIMP. It was really fun and I love the way it looks.
3. YA novels
A few years ago my super awesome friend Courtney had to talk me into reading Twilight. I’m like, “Vampires? In high school? Seriously?” Seriously. SO seriously. What made me ever think that I wouldn’t absolutely LOVE that shit? Around that same time, my then adorable boyfriend now adorable husband gave me the charming YA novel, Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli. That was it. I was officially hooked on YA fiction.
I just finished a book that I loved, Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver. The main character, Samantha, is a teenaged girl who goes through a Groundhog Dayesque reliving of Friday February 12th – the day that she died. That should be enough info to entice you to pick up this book.
Other YA novels on my “to read” list are Feed by M.T. Anderson, all of Rachel Cohn’s books, Delirium by Lauren Oliver, The Magician’s Elephant by Kate DiCamillo, You Wish by Mandy Hubbard, For Keeps by Natasha Friend, and The Eternal Ones by Kirsten Miller.
4. Dan and Blair

Spotted: Gossip Girl actually back on television. Ha…I wish. There hasn’t been a new episode of this show since February 28th…that’s right, I said FEBRUARY 28th! And they ended it with a highly anticipated (at least by me) Dan and Blair kiss. I love love love the potential Dan/Blair coupling. It would be great to see Blair fall completely head over heels in love with intelligent good guy Dan and be positively influenced by him. OMG, hurry up already April 18th!
5. WitStream
Do you like Twitter mostly because of the funny stuff that comedians say? Then you’ll love WitStream. Thanks to Lisa Cohen and the “very famous” and super hilarious Michael Ian Black, you can have all funny, all of the time. I’m sure they’ll be following my Twitter feed in no time and inviting me to be part of their elite comic crew. Lisa and Michael – I could totally do it. I’m “very funny.” I swear.
