I’ve always enjoyed thumbing through books and magazines about interior design. Lately it’s been more fun because we’re about to move into a smaller place and we’re going to have to organize and arrange creatively to make things work. With websites, magazines, and books like these, I’m actually looking forward to the challenge.
Design*Sponge, you complete me. I adore this website. I visit it almost every day. I love the Sneak Peeks section, where you have a chance to take a look inside the living spaces of different people. In fact, I got the idea of what kind of desks to buy for our new space and how to set them up from the sneak peek of Jen Bilik’s home.
Apartment Therapy, I recently stumbled upon you. After I became obsessed with the turquoisy/aquaey wall color in this home featured in ReadyMade, I saw a cool article on this site about incorporating splashes of turquoise in the kitchen. The kitchen in our new space is being filled with white and cool turquoise blue as I type this. The touch that we’ll be adding sometime after we move in is using chalkboard paint to turn one of the turquoise walls of a largish square column (the one that faces the living area) into a chalkboard where we can do our own fun, colorful drawings. Apartment Therapy’s Big Book of Small, Cool Spaces comes out today. Mine is on its way and I’m super psyched.
