I am not ashamed to say that I subscribe to all kinds of, what some people might call, “hokey” notions. I’ve read The Secret. I practice yoga occasionally. I’m all aboard Oprah’s brand of spirituality.
I made my first vision board sometime last year while I was living in L.A. and had a very stressful job in the movie marketing industry. It focused mostly on having a happy life with my then boyfriend/now fiance, moving back to Seattle, finding a job that was meaningful, and having more time and less stress.
In January of 2009, I created my second vision board.
See Exhibit A. On the left. Wait…should I label it Exhibit A? I could go on and on, but I won’t.
The cool thing is that when I started making this vision board, I got to take down some of the things that had already happened and replace them with new or enhanced goals and desires.
My vision board is hanging in our bedroom, and I love waking up and seeing it it in the morning. Spending some time with it is a good way to start and end each day. Sometimes I just focus intently on certain parts of it. Other times I slowly travel around the whole board, smiling. Looking at it always makes me feel good. Like my ideal life is within reach. It also reminds me of the positive things I’m currently doing to reach my goals.
